The founders of Google are celebrating the 11th founding year of their search engine.

Fans of the search engine site Google were mighty confused when they were met with spelling containing two L’s. For those that couldn’t figure it out Sunday September 27th is Google’s 11th birthday. The search engine company was founded back in September 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

Google is known for changing its logo on various holidays and providing interesting links that relate to the topic. On their tenth birthday a cupcake replaced one of the “O’s” in Google.

Its been difficult to pin point their exact birth date some days have been noted as September 2nd and 7th but this time they are celebrating at the very end of the month. According to ABC News even they’ve forgotten the details saying “Google opened its doors in September 1998. The exact date when we celebrate our birthday has moved around over the years, depending on when people feel like having cake.”
